Several members have called saying that they have received a text message that says, "Your credit union sender alert: Your card has been deactivated, please call us (then a local phone number)
When they call the number the only information requested is the card number. FIRST CENTRAL CREDIT UNION WILL NOT CALL AND ASK FOR AN ACCOUNT OR CARD NUMBER. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER.
This is a scam. They are phishing. They have sent thousands of messages hoping that you will respond. Many times this message is sent at night or over a weekend when credit union offices are closed
